Quality Nutrition Education + Physical Education Programs = Healthy Children!
Nutrition education and physical education programs play a critical role in providing children with the knowledge, skills and opportunities they need to choose healthy foods and be active every day. The primary goal of any program should be to positively influence children’s lifestyle choices.
Quality nutrition education programs should be part of your coordinated school health program and can be easily integrated into core curriculum. Effective nutrition education programs according to CDC guidelines are sequential, age-appropriate, based on scientific evidence, fun, experiential, culturally relevant, and involve parents in reinforcing concepts at home.
